Social Justice in Studying the English Language Arts
I have been an advocate for equality and social justice for as long as I can remember. Because of that, it is easy for me to make connections between what I read and different values and ideologies that I hold for these various issues. Part of what I want to do as a teacher is to help facilitate those connections for my students wherever I can.
Facilitated Discussions on Ethical Issues Using the "AIR Mode of Ethical Inquiry."
The AIR Mode of Ethical Inquiry is the framework that I choose to use when discussing sensitive topics with my students.

Social Justice Fair Projects (Social Studies/History 10-12)
This is a research project that I assign to all my Senior Social Studies/History courses. In this project, students were to research an aspect of Social Justice and/or Human Rights that interested them and then present their findings on a tri-fold presentation board. Students then presented their projects to the larger school and community in a "Social Justice Fair."
